Every month, we highlight one of our staff members so you can get to know the MHED team a little bit better. This month we spoke with Staffing Specialist Allison Kirch!

Tell us about your family and your background.

I grew up most of my life in Overland Park, Kansas, although I’m originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I attended school at Northwest Missouri State University where I graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I joined the MHED team this past summer after spending a year as a stay-at-home mom. I am married to my wonderful husband, Taylor, and together we have a precious little boy who is the light of our lives! We also have two dogs — a Maltese, Princess, and a German Shephard Mastiff, Leroy. Clearly one was mine and the other, my husbands before we got married!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work I love to spend time with my family, read, and be outdoors when the weather is nice. Also, I know this may sound strange to some people, but I love to clean! Honestly, I would consider cleaning one of my main hobbies. Which, I know that does not sound relaxing or fun but it’s a great stress reliever for me, especially with my music on in the background.

What is something on your bucket list?

Hmm. I haven’t really made a bucket list yet. There are places I want to travel to with my little family and experiences that I had as a kid that I want for my son. I would love to travel to one of the islands in the Caribbean and stay at an all-inclusive resort. Or, at a cabin in the mountains surrounded by snow! I love both!

What is one thing you would like substitute teachers to know about you?

That I truly love my job and I appreciate all our MHED substitute teachers!

What is your favorite part about working at MHED?

My favorite part of working at MHED is getting to work with some amazing people every day. They truly make work enjoyable. Everyone at Morgan Hunter has been super friendly and welcoming, but I couldn’t ask for a better team! I absolutely love my job and the people I work with!

What have been some of your biggest accomplishments in life thus far?

Well, first and foremost, my biggest accomplishment in life was becoming a mommy. There is no greater joy to me than being a mommy to my precious angel…even though he’s in his defiant toddler stage (he is 19 months). Another accomplishment in my life would be that I have had the opportunity to travel across the world three different times in my 25 years of life. I’ve been to Paris, London, Venice, Salzburg, Munich and Florence, just to name a few!
